About Us
Locating a quality place to hunt
has become increasingly difficult in recent years. Public hunting can be so
crowded it takes away from the whole outdoor experience and dramatically
reduces' hunters' safety. With nearly 90% of all land being privately owned,
our lease program ensures the hunting community always has an affordable and
safe place to enjoy their sport. We offer a variety of lease packages to true
sportsmen who are willing to pay a fair price for the special recreational
privilege of hunting rights on private property. A hunting lease can be a great
alternative to using hunting outfitters or archery hunting outfitters - and
it's a lot less expensive than a guided hunt.
Our hunting leases are for
exclusive, official hunting rights for your group per property, with a maximum
number allowed. No scheduling or worrying about who is going to be there other
than the parties in your group.
Most of our properties are leased
for annual hunting/fishing privileges only. These leases are written between
the hunters and Clark County Recreation.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q.
How do I get directions and
permission to inspect the property before leasing?
A.
Send us an email or contact us
by phone and an email will be sent to you along with directions and a
permission slip if needed to access the property. If someone needs to be
notified prior to inspection, it will be noted. Otherwise, this is all you
need to make a personal inspection. Print it along with a copy of the aerial
photo and directions and take it along with you to help distinguish the
boundaries. Click on "driving directions" under the Location
heading of the property you wish to inspect..
Q.
Is the price per hunter or
per group?
A.
All properties are listed at
a value for the entire property, no matter how many hunters you have, up to
the maximum allowed.
Q.
What exactly do you mean by
maximum hunters.
A.
That is the total number of
hunters allowed in your party and all must sign the lease. If it is a 4
person lease, then 4 individuals can hunt that property anytime they like.
Not 4 guys this week and then 4 different guys next week. This management
technique is mainly to maintain game populations and insure that these
properties are quality hunting opportunities for years to come. More hunting
pressure = less success. We want our leases to come back.
Q.
When does the lease start?
A.
Your hunting lease begins
whenever you decide you want it, and typically lasts for 1 year from that
date, unless specified otherwise.. It is yours upon receipt of a signed lease
with payment in full.
Q.
Do I have first right to
renew?
A.
Yes, as long as you abide by
the lease terms and you get the payment to us 2 weeks prior to lease
expiration as stated in the lease.
Q.
Can I camp on the property?
A.
Almost all of the properties have
areas to set up a tent or camper and a few have electrical available.
Q.
Are food plots allowed to
implement a wildlife management plan?
A.
We encourage hunters who have
multiple year leases to develop food plots. Some sites already have food
plots. All farms have either corn or soybeans in the fields. Note: Tillable
acreage does not mean it is yours to plant as you like. You are only leasing
the hunting rights. If your wildlife management plan calls for a food plot,
this should be worked out with the Clark County Recreation in advance. We can
arrange to put in food plots for you if you do not have the equipment to do
this.
Q.
Do the leases come with deer
stands?
A.
Most of our sites have
enclosed deer stands, but not all. (See photographs). Your encouraged to
construct your own stands at the sites you feel will offer the best hunting
opportunities.
